What is the application process?
Applications must be submitted online through the Center for Scholarship Administration (CSA) website. There are five steps to complete the application:
1. Follow the link provided in the email to apply: https://www.scholarshipprograms.org/milliken
2. Click the "Create Application" button to answer the prequalifying questions. When you submit these, it will automatically take you to the profile page.
3. Create or update your profile. Save and continue to the online application.
4. Complete the online application. A confirmation email will be sent when the online portion of your application is complete. Applicant should contact CSA at elisabeth@csascholars.org if a confirmation email is not received.
5. Mail in or email the packet of additional required materials. See "What constitutes a complete application packet?" below. - Who is eligible for the scholarship?
Applicants Must:
• Be dependent children of qualified employees (either parent or stepparent) of Pacolet Milliken Family of Companies.
o A qualified employee is defined as an employee who has been with Pacolet Milliken Family of Companies for a consecutive time of one year prior to February 29, 2024, and active on the payroll at the time the scholarship is to be awarded. Dependent children of qualified employees in an Executive level (V.P. or above) are not eligible to apply.
• Be a current high school (or home-schooled) student attending school in SC who graduates in the 2023-2024 academic school year.
• Planning to pursue a degree at an accredited US post-secondary institution.
• Have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
• Not be a current recipient of a full-tuition scholarship.
Recipients are selected based on financial need, academic achievement, leadership ability, creativity, community/volunteer service, and special circumstances. -
When is the deadline for submission of materials?
The deadline for submission of the online portion of the application is 5:00 pm EST on . The additional materials required must be emailed or mailed in ONE envelope to Pacolet Milliken Scholarship, PO BOX 1465, Taylors, SC 29687. The additional materials required must also be RECEIVED no later than 5:00 pm EST .
- What constitutes a complete application packet?
You must submit the following additional materials:
• Submit the STUDENT AUTHORIZATION AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS FORM, found in the application online, which must be SIGNED.
Download the Student Authorization and Acknowledgements Form.• Submit an OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT with grades and cumulative GPA posted through the latest Fall semester. It must be OFFICIAL.
• Submit a PERSONAL STATEMENT/ESSAY. Submit a one-page SIGNED personal statement describing your academic or career goals, including your inspiration for these goals. Please also describe how this scholarship will help you reach those goals. Include applicant name and name of scholarship on the page.
• Submit a RESUME. The resume needs to include a list of your academic honors, leadership skills, community service, extracurricular activities, etc.
• Submit a SIGNED copy of parents` FEDERAL TAX FORM 1040 (pages one and two only) and W-2 FORMS for each parent (if applicable) for the latest year these forms were filed In the case of divorced parents, only the financial information in which the applicant is listed as a dependent will be required.
- What is the value of the scholarship award?
The scholarship award, in the amount of $2,500, will be made directly to the college or institution on behalf of the student and can be used to off-set the costs of books, equipment, supplies, or tuition.
- What college may I attend?
Recipients may attend an accredited, public or private, two-year or four-year, college, university, technical college or trade school located in the United States. If the student is attending school in the United States, the school of choice must be exempt from federal income tax under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
All recipients must be full-time each semester and working toward an undergraduate degree.
The institution must be an educational organization that normally maintains a regular faculty and curriculum and normally has a regularly enrolled body of pupils or students in attendance at the place where its educational activities are regularly carried on. -
What if I am unable to attend consecutive semesters?
Extenuating circumstances requiring a student to sit out a semester must be explained in writing to CSA. You will be notified of the final decision. If a recipient is out for a semester and doesn`t receive approval, then that semester is forfeited.

How are winners selected?
An independent Scholarship Selection Committee will consider the respective ability, academic merit, educational goals, and career ambitions of each applicant.

How will I be notified if I am chosen as a recipient?
All complete applicants will be notified of the decisions of the committee via the email address used to apply.

Is this scholarship renewable?
This scholarship is renewable for a up to 3 additional consecutive years long as requirements continue to be met:
• Qualified employee (either parent or stepparent of the student) must continue to be employed by one of Pacolet Milliken Family of Companies.
• Continue pursuing a degree at an accredited US post-secondary institution.
• Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
• Not be a recipient of a full-tuition scholarship.
